Bath man supports forces veterans

You may have seen him standing in military uniform with his collection bucket in hand, close to the Abbey Churchyard.
Whiteway resident Martin Weathers served with the Queen's Royal Irish Hussars (now the Queen's Royal Hussars), completing nearly 10 years of service between 1983 and 1992.
Today he raises money for the Veterans Charity which provides essential items such as clothing, bedding, homeware and furniture, to those who have served in Her Majesty's Forces but are now experiencing hardship.
About a year ago, Martin also set up the The City of Bath Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club. It's a monthly get-together which helps all veterans of all ages to meet and reminisce about their service days. The participants range in age from mid-30s to 94, the oldest being a World War II veteran.
